Are you an elderly tenant looking to reside in close range to a funeral director?
Look no further, a one-bedroom, one-bathroom unit in Auckland’s Mt Eden situated near a funeral director could be for you.
The private rental listing on Trade Me specified the ideal tenant would be “elderly” and said the property was “very handy to funeral directors at the end of street”.
A Mt Eden landlord advertised for an elderly occupier for a flat and listed funeral services as handy location

The landlord, who called himself Bob, said the room advertised would best suit an elderly occupier because “it was close to the undertakers”.
Rent for the Milton Road residence is $395 per week, power and internet excluded, and is 400 metres from Davis Funeral Services.
Bob did not find the listing unusual and did not want to speak further.
He did say the room has been taken and would deactivate the listing once the tenancy was made official.
Kiri Barfoot, director of real estate company Barfoot and Thompson, said the Mt Eden listing made the list of top 10 most-odd listings she had heard of.
“It’s wrong on so many levels,” Barfoot said.
“I’ve never heard of this one before.”
